The Super-Shallow Well Skiff (SSWS) is recommended for 50hp to 115hp outbaord motors for the 28 foot class, as pictured, but they require very little hp for their size. A true workhorse, she also boasts unlimited recreational applications. With her motor being front-mounted in a well, the prop rides on her bow wave, allowing unsurpassed shallow-water usage. She runs in 3 inches of water or less when completely loaded (6400 lbs plus). Well boats have earned the unfortunate nickname "bird dogs" due to the tendency of most of them to track from side to side while running. This is in fact a misnomer, because this phenomena is a side-effect of improper construction. The SSWS tracks amazingly straight and true, and is a testament to these facts. Her dimensions as shown are 28 feet long with a spacious 8 foot, 6 inch beam. They can be built to any length, with full coustomization available, and this will not compromise shallow-water performnance.
